Websites for MEP & engineering firms

The work is complex. We make it visible.

Quartz Field rebuilds outdated engineering firm websites — with search, answer-engine and AI readability engineered in from the first page.

Most engineering firm websites describe services accurately and still leave a prospect unsure what the firm is best at.

Offerings

Choose the depth of proof your firm needs

  1. 1Structured so answer engines can parse your services.
  2. 2Every tier respects a visitor's reduced-motion setting.
  3. 3LinkedIn company profile work, Wikipedia eligibility assessment and neutral drafting, and outreach for third-party industry articles. Publication decisions rest with those platforms.
  4. 4Foundation includes a recommendation sheet. Signature and Flagship include profile setup or management, which needs your account access and approval. Google decides how profiles appear.
  5. 5Where your firm appears in AI assistant answers, reported monthly with the support plan. We report what those systems say; we do not control it.
  6. 6Delivered with the support plan. Standard covers search performance and the changes we made. Expanded adds the AI-visibility results, the competitor benchmark and the plan for the next month.
  7. 7Outreach for third-party industry articles and a Wikipedia eligibility assessment. Independent publishers and platforms decide what they run or accept.
  8. 8From kickoff, once we have your project material. Timing depends on how quickly your team returns content and approvals.
  9. 9A 12-month plan, quoted per month, after a free first month of launch support.

Built in from the first page

Three ways your firm gets found

Most web designers stop at SEO. Answer engines and AI models now sit between your firm and the people looking for it, and each reads a website differently. We build for all three.

Traditional search

Search Engine Optimization

Being findable when someone searches for what you do. The foundation everything else sits on.

  • Keyword research

Finding the exact words facility managers, developers and general contractors type into Google, and using them naturally across your pages.

  • On-page optimization

Titles, headings, meta descriptions and alt text written so every page has one clear search purpose.

  • Technical SEO

Fast loads, mobile correctness, crawlable markup, no broken links and no duplicate content.

  • Local SEO

Google Business Profile, local citations and map listings prepared so you surface for "MEP firm near me".

  • Click-through rate

Titles and descriptions compelling enough that the click goes to you rather than the firm listed above you.

  • Backlink foundations

The site structured so that when other reputable sites do link to you, that credibility lands where it should.

Built to be found —by people and by machines.

Questions

Answers before you ask

The questions engineering firms actually ask before hiring — answered plainly. These same answers are marked up so search and answer engines can read them, which is the AEO work we do for clients.

  • How long does a website build take?

Foundation takes about four weeks from kickoff to launch. Signature typically runs four to eight weeks and Flagship eight to twelve, because the content system and project showcases are built alongside the site. Timing starts once we have your project material; the largest variable is how quickly that and technical review come back from your team.

  • What do you need from us to start?

Project photos, a list of completed work you are willing to show publicly, your team roster and credentials, and one technical reviewer who can confirm engineering claims. If your project photography is thin, we will tell you at the audit stage rather than after the contract is signed.

  • Will this get us ranking on Google?

No one can honestly promise a ranking — Google decides that. What we deliver is a technically sound, search-ready foundation: clean semantic structure, fast load times, accurate metadata, working internal links and correct schema. That is the part within our control, and we do it thoroughly.

  • What is AEO, and why does it matter for an engineering firm?

Answer Engine Optimization structures your content so search systems can extract a direct answer rather than just a link. It matters because a facility manager searching for a mechanical engineer increasingly gets an answer, not ten blue links. If your expertise is not machine-readable, it is not in that answer.

  • How is this different from a template site?

A template is a visual starting point with no opinion about your work. We build around your project evidence: what you engineered, what constraint you solved, and what the result was. The portfolio system is the product, and it is why an engineering firm chooses us over a general web designer.

  • What is the difference between the three packages?

All three share the same technical foundation. Foundation gets your firm found. Signature adds a content system — articles, FAQs and structured answers — that keeps building visibility after launch. Flagship adds motion-led storytelling, a heavier publishing programme and third-party visibility work.

  • What happens after the site launches?

Every package includes one month of launch support for fixes and basic site tweaks, at no charge. After that month we offer a 12-month support plan: new projects added, content published on schedule, technical health monitored and a monthly report, at $500, $1,000 or $1,500 a month by package. If you would rather run the site yourself, we can set that up and train your team.

  • Do you work with firms outside the DC area?

Yes. Our focus is MEP and engineering consulting firms in DC, Maryland and Virginia, because knowing the local market makes the copy and local search work sharper. The build process itself is remote and works equally well for firms elsewhere.

  • Who owns the website when it is finished?

You do — the code, the content, the domain and the hosting account are all in your name. There is no proprietary platform holding your site hostage and no licence fee to keep it online. If you ever stop working with us, the site stays exactly where it is.

Method

From project evidence to a web story

Engineering firms rarely lack proof of capability. They lack a structure that lets a prospective client find it, read it, and understand what it demonstrates.

  1. 01

    Find the signal

We audit what your firm currently says online, search your name the way a referred prospect would, and identify which parts of your expertise are invisible. You get the findings whether or not you hire us.

  2. 02

    Shape the story

Your projects become evidence: the constraint, the engineering decision, the outcome. Copy is written before a single page is designed, because words drive layout — not the other way around.

  3. 03

    Build the experience

A fast, semantic, accessible site with schema, sitemaps and crawl controls in place from the first commit. Search, answer engines and AI models can all read it because it was built to be read. At set check-ins you review spelling, wording and how your firm is presented, so nothing goes live that you have not approved.

  4. 04

    Keep it current

The first month after launch is covered: fixes and basic tweaks at no charge. After that you choose a 12-month support plan, where we handle updates, publishing and monitoring, or a self-managed setup with training for your team. A website that stops being updated starts aging the day it launches.
